This production by Tafelberg Films and Varsbayd started life as a script long-forgotten in my Dropbox folder, called ’By the Sword’ – a UK-set drama about war trauma. When director, Gideon Van Eeden, a fellow Raindance MA student advertised for scripts, I sent it to him. He loved it and we adapted it to a Netherlands setting, while he translated it into Dutch.
It then played at numerous festivals including Raindance, Lift-Off – and Kerry, where it won best student film and CineSud where it won the Youth Jury Award.
This became the touchstone for a slate of new productions with Tafelberg Films, partnered with InFocus Producties. Up next is the horror web-series “3.42am” and the psychological horror feature “Darkness and Voices”
